The MMG-KHOEMACAU COPPER MINING creates significant value to MMG by ensure that MMG derives maximum value from its external spend. This is accomplished through structured market engagements and ongoing category and contract stewardship.
We are pleased to advise that we seek a Procurement Specialist. Based in Beijing, China/Khoemacau Mine / Gaborone Office and reporting to Manager - Supply Chain Africa, the purpose of this job is to ensure that MMG derives maximum value from its external spend. The key focus and main activities are:
• Category Stewardship
• Planning of Sourcing Activities
• Completion of Internal Analysis’
• Execute Market Engagements
• Documentation of Outcomes
To be considered, candidates must have
• Excellent communication skills in Chinese and English, with the ability to use Chinese and English as working language.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with suppliers, transport providers, and internal teams.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in logistics software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Key to success in this role is the ability to
• Robust understanding of MMG Standards and Process Framework
• Strong knowledge of contract terms and conditions is essential.
• SAP working knowledge is not negotiable.
• Familiarity with legal and risk framework for contract execution and contract management in the various jurisdictions in which MMG operates.
• Familiarity with MMG’s Strategy and Operating Model
• Familiarity or ability to develop the requirements, specifications, and needs of specific goods required on a mine site.
• Understanding of Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Negotiation models and approaches
