The MMG-KHOEMACAU COPPER MINING creates significant value to MMG by structured market engagements and ongoing category and contract stewardship.

We are pleased to advise that we seek a Contract Specialist.  Based in Beijing, China/Khoemacau Mine / Gaborone Office and reporting to Manager - Supply Chain Africa, the purpose of this job is to ensure that MMG derives maximum value from its external spend. The key focus and main activities are:

• BOQ Audit and Settlement
• Supplier Relationship Management

• Risk Management and Compliance
• Continuous Improvement

To be considered, candidates must have

• Excellent communication skills in Chinese and English, with the ability to use Chinese and English as working language.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Key to success in this role is the ability to

• Robust understanding of MMG Standards and Process Framework
• Strong knowledge of contract terms and conditions is essential.
• SAP working knowledge is not negotiable.
• Strong analytical and auditing skills, particularly in BOQ preparation, auditing, and settlement processes.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to identify discrepancies and manage risks.
• Project management and organizational skills to align procurement activities with engineering and construction project timelines.
• Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and contracts in China and Botswana.
• Ability to report status of discipline over multiple projects efficiently to executive management.
• Lead the procurement efforts for the complete capital program.
• Able to deliver a value-add service to the projects.
• Comply with Safety and Quality Assurance adherence according to MMG specifications.
• Vendor assessments (Financial) and Vendor Performance Management.
• Cultural awareness and adaptability to work effectively with suppliers in LCCs.
