The PMO creates significant value to MMG by provide scheduling support to implementation projects, including schedule development and update, schedule risk analysis, scenario planning and project progress reporting.

We are pleased to advise that we seek a Project Schedule Control Lead.  Based in Khoemacau Mine / Gaborone Office and reporting to PMO Manager and Main Shareholder Liaison.

The key focus and main activities are

• Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the Scheduler and other planning/scheduling team members. Ensure the team adheres to project planning standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of the master project schedule. Ensure alignment between the project schedule and overall project objectives, milestones, and deliverables. Review and approve schedule updates, adjustments, and risk mitigation plans.
• Oversee the preparation and distribution of progress reports, ensuring they are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with stakeholder requirements. Provide high-level insights and recommendations based on schedule performance and progress analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project schedules, progress, and deliverables. Facilitate meetings to address schedule-related challenges, risks, and opportunities.
• Identify and assess potential risks to the project timeline and develop strategic mitigation plans. Ensure risks are communicated to relevant stakeholders and incorporated into the project schedule.
• Establish and implement metrics for measuring project progress and performance. Analyze project schedules to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements. Propose and implement strategic adjustments to the schedule to meet project deadlines and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with project planning standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain comprehensive records of schedule changes, progress updates, and related documentation.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of key project planning deliverables, such as Gantt charts, milestone reports, and resource allocation plans.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning, scheduling, and Project Management System processes to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

To be considered, candidates must have

• Computer skills: Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Excel
• In-depth knowledge of engineering project management systems and tools
• Fluency in English and Chinese for effective communication with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation

• Cost Control
• HSE Compliance.

Key to success in this role is the ability to

• Proficiency in project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Extensive knowledge in the development and execution of major mining projects.
