MMG Dugald River:

The mine; Dugald River is fully owned by MMG Limited and is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc operation and is mined underground. Dugald River is expected to produce around 170,000 – 190,000 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate annually. The operation employs around 500 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.

Engineer –Projects

Reporting to the Senior Engineer – Projects, the Engineer - Projects ensures that project scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk requirements are met while supporting stakeholder engagement, contractor performance, and compliance with standards and regulations. The position contributes to the successful delivery of capital and operational projects and supports continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.

This role will be based on an 8/6 roster. This role is available on a drive-in drive out basis (DIDO) from the Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of the local region who wish to relocate to the Cloncurry or Mount Isa districts. FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane is also available.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Tertiary Engineering qualifications in an Engineering field from a recognised institution
  • Understanding of environmental obligations under the Queensland Mines and Quarrying Act.
  • Mining and mineral processing experience preferable

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver assigned projects in alignment with the MMG Project Delivery Framework, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk requirements are achieved.
  • Prepare and manage key project documents, including the Scope of Works, Project Execution Plans and supporting technical information.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication, timely decisions and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage contractor performance, including mobilisation, work execution, site interactions, Requests for Information and Technical Queries.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets and schedules, and provide accurate reporting, forecasting and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Support safety and risk processes, including Safety in Design, risk assessments, Management of Change and compliance with site standards and procedures.
  • Review and endorse technical documentation to ensure accuracy, constructability and compliance with relevant standards and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned, process enhancements and opportunities that support improved project outcomes.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that are aligned with the MMG Values and Code of Conduct at all times
