MMG Dugald River

Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.

The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.

Dugald River employs around 800 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women’s only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area. MMG is committed to supporting our local communities of Cloncurry Shire and Mount Isa City Council Local Government Areas.

MMG Graduate/Early Career Program

We invite applications from students who have graduated in the past two years in the discipline of Health and Safety.

Your growth is integral to the program with a structured two year on the job program supporting your learning through on-the-job development. The program focuses primarily on increasing self-awareness, learning from others, developing critical competencies for ongoing success and learning what you enjoy within your role.

Highlights of the program include:

• Ongoing activities to share each other’s knowledge, experiences, ideas and feedback.
• Contribution to projects and exposure to our Senior Leadership team.
• Specific skills development trainings, on various technologies as well as soft skills.
• Career mentoring providing guidance in preparing for your professional life.

The Program will provide you with an outstanding opportunity to produce results, quickly gain credibility and develop a strong network within the organisation as well as the wider Mining industry over two years.

Day to day, you will report into the Superintendent - Health and Safety and gain exposure with the following:

• Mentoring and training in the areas of safety, health, hygiene, risk and emergency response.
• Monitor and report on health and safety regulations, licenses, and standards.
• Undertake incident investigation facilitation and reporting.
• Assist in hygiene monitoring programs as per site requirement.
• Support safe work delivery and team/supervisor safety accountabilities.
• Assist in driving safety, health, hygiene, risk and emergency response improvement projects.
• Maintain health and safety data and ensure proper reporting and verification.

Full time working rights within Australia is essential. This role will be offered on an 8:6 roster, FIFO of Brisbane or Townsville.
