Senior Inventory Planner
Your Impact
Reporting to the Planning Manager - Distribution & Inventory, the Senior Inventory Planner will lead the Inventory Planning function for the Australian business.
This role is responsible for ensuring optimal inventory performance across the supply chain network by balancing supply and demand, improving service levels and reducing excess and obsolete inventory. Leading the Inventory Planning team, you will drive best-practice planning processes, strengthen capability and partner closely with Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain stakeholders to deliver efficient and cost-effective outcomes.
As a key leader within the Planning team, you will play a critical role in improving inventory performance, enhancing planning governance and supporting strategic decision making through data-driven insights.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead end-to-end inventory planning activities across the Australian supply chain network
- Optimise inventory levels to balance customer service, working capital and operational efficiency objectives
- Lead, coach and develop the Inventory Planning team, fostering a high-performance and accountable culture
- Establish and maintain robust planning processes, governance frameworks and inventory management disciplines
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning accuracy, responsiveness and inventory performance
- Partner closely with Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing and Commercial teams to align supply and demand plans
- Provide recommendations and insights that support business performance and strategic decision making
- Support broader supply chain initiatives and contribute to the ongoing evolution of planning capability across the business
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Commerce or a related discipline
- 5+ years' experience within inventory planning, supply planning or broader supply chain roles
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching or mentoring teams within a planning environment
- Strong understanding of inventory optimisation, demand and supply balancing and working capital management
- Experience working cross-functionally with Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing and Supply Chain stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Advanced planning systems and ERP experience, ideally including SAP, Kinaxis or similar platforms
- Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of cost-to-serve principles
- Proven ability to drive change, continuous improvement and planning excellence
