Your Impact
Reporting into the Global Head of Tax and with a dotted line into the Chief Financial Officer - APAC, you will lead tax strategy, risk management, compliance oversight, regulator relationships and senior stakeholder engagement across APAC, with a particular focus on Oceania and South Central / Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead APAC tax strategy, governance, risk and compliance activities.
- Own and strengthen key ATO and external advisor relationships, ensuring a trusted and proactive approach to tax matters in line with our status as a ‘Top 100’ tax payer in Australia.
- Lead the resolution of complex legacy tax matters across South Central and Southeast Asia.
- Partner with Finance and senior business leaders on strategic projects, commercial decisions and regional tax implications.
- Build regional capability and continue developing a highly engaged team.
- Contribute to the evolving global tax operating model.
- Be an engaged member of both the Asahi Global tax leadership team and the APAC Finance leadership team.
About You
You will bring senior corporate tax leadership experience from a sizeable, complex and multinational organisation, with the confidence to manage regulator relationships, advisor relationships, advise senior stakeholders and make sound commercial decisions in a high-scrutiny environment. You will also bring deep technical tax expertise, commercial judgement and the executive presence to translate complex tax matters into clear, pragmatic advice for senior business leaders.
- Experience across APAC, Southeast Asia or multinational tax environments, including cross-border transactions, transfer pricing and global corporate operating structures.
- A background in manufacturing, FMCG, mining or another complex operational environment would be highly regarded.
