Operations Manager
Job no: 503846
Work type: Fixed Term - Full Time
Location: Melbourne
Categories: Corporate Support Functions
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for setting up and running the operational backbone that supports a new product and its launch into market.
You will bring together multiple streams of work across product, digital, partners and go-to-market to ensure the business is ready to launch and operate effectively. While you won’t own each stream directly, you will ensure progress is aligned, timelines are met and delivery stays on track.
Alongside this, you will establish the processes, partnerships and ways of working needed to support day-to-day operations. As the business moves through launch and into scale, your focus will shift from coordination and setup into operational ownership, performance and continuous improvement.
This role suits someone who can balance structure and execution, keeping things moving while building the foundations for sustainable operations.
Please note, this role is offered as a fixed term contract for 2 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and embed the operational model to support launch and ongoing delivery
- Align activity across multiple workstreams, ensuring timelines, dependencies and deliverables are tracked and met
- Create clear ownership and accountability across internal teams and external partners
- Set up and manage key operational capabilities including supply chain, service model, logistics and partner ecosystem
- Work closely with product, digital and go-to-market teams to ensure operational readiness for launch
- Identify risks and bottlenecks early and take action to maintain momentum
- Transition into ongoing operational management post-launch, overseeing performance and continuous improvement
- Manage supplier and partner performance across cost, service and quality
About You
- Experience across operations, supply chain, program or delivery roles within a startup, scale-up or high growth environment
- Proven track record delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives, with ownership of timelines, budgets and outcomes
- Experience building operational capability from the ground up, including processes, systems, reporting and governance
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience sourcing, onboarding and managing external partners
- Solid understanding of inventory management, including forecasting, optimisation, SKU management and manufacturing partner relationships
- Experience working with 3PL and last mile logistics providers, with a focus on performance, cost and customer outcomes
- Highly organised and execution-focused, with the ability to move between planning and hands-on delivery while keeping multiple priorities on track
