Impact
Asahi Beverages is seeking a driven and strategic Planning Manager – Inventory & Distribution to lead a critical function within our Supply Chain network. Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Head of Inventory, Materials & Distribution, you’ll oversee a large-scale, national planning network. This is a rare opportunity to shape the end-to-end Inventory and Distribution Planning function, lead a geographically dispersed team, and drive key optimisation opportunities to deliver Asahi’s broader Supply Chain strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a national team of 4 direct and 17 indirect reports across Inventory and Distribution Planning, including intercompany movements
- Optimise finished goods replenishment across the Asahi network, balancing service levels, cost, and network efficiency
- Act as the key Planning partner for Asahi’s Logistics team (transport and warehousing operations)
- Challenge and drive improvements across Inventory and Distribution Planning processes and tools
- Translate complex data into actionable Planning decisions
- Support implementation of a new Advanced Planning System
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in supply chain and leadership enabling you to set a clear vision and expectations for your team, support their ongoing development, and leverage your Planning expertise to enable your team’s optimal performance.
- Extensive experience in Planning - combined with distribution & inventory management experience
- Leadership: managing a geographically dispersed team in a complex network
- Experience navigating workplace change: implementing new systems, refining processes, all while bringing your team on the journey
- Deep understanding of Planning - cross-functional experience working in collaboration with other supply chain and corporate functions would be an advantage
- Strong financial acumen to enable you to make commercially sound decisions that drive best for business outcomes
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to build relationships with a diverse stakeholder group
