About Stanwell

Stanwell provides the spark for a bright future, and that future starts now. With our corporate office in Brisbane’s CBD and sites in the South Burnett and Rockhampton regions, we are a supplier of energy solutions to Queensland, the National Electricity Market, and large energy users throughout Australia. With more than 3 GW of renewable generation projects and firming capacity under development, we have an extensive renewable energy pipeline, with a goal of 9 to 10 GW of renewable energy and 5 GW of energy storage in place by 2035.

So, if you’d like to be part of the clean energy transformation in Queensland, working at Stanwell might be for you.

We care. We adapt. We deliver. These values are the driving force behind everything we do. And as we grow and deliver that pipeline of projects in the coming years, we will continue to serve our communities and deliver the power that Queensland needs.

Who is Cid Burke

Cid Burke took the role of Operational Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator in 1988 and showed genuine care and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all employees. He was also an active and well-known community member, and was much loved and respected in both his workplace and his community.  After Cid passed away in 2008, a scholarship was set up to assist a young person from the South Burnett to gain a qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or a related field.

What does the Scholarship cover?

We understand the hardships faced by students in local regional communities to attend university. These scholarships are for students studying Health, Safety and Environment (or similar) to assist with this struggle of living and studying away from the region.

  2. A mentoring program
  3. Vacation work opportunities
  4. Possible direct appointment into the Stanwell Corporation Graduate program at the end of your study

You are eligible if: you reside in the South Burnett and be (or planning to be) studying full time; you are a school-leaver or have left within the past two years; you can demonstrate service to community, and you have enrolled to study Health, Safety and Environment (or similar).
