About the role(s)
AHA1
- Provides assistance in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service by supporting the dispensing and distribution of medications and a range of cashier/reception activities for inpatients and outpatients. May be required to assist in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals.
- The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) level 1 role is primarily a role defined to enable training in the AHA work with the view of progression to AHA level 2 upon successful completion of a relevant Certificate 3, or at the end of 6 months continuous employment, whichever is sooner and on the understanding that the incumbent is not subject to any performance management processes at that time.
Educational/Vocational Qualifications
- Nil– must be eligible and willing to undertake relevant Certificate Level 3 (or above) training
AHA2
- Assists in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service by dispensing and distribution of medications and packaging of pharmaceuticals, inventory management, technical training of staff and organisation of daily workloads. Assist in the ordering and/or preparation/manufacturing of pharmaceuticals.
Educational/Vocational Qualifications
- Eligibility through experience as a AHA1 in SA Pharmacy (or equivalent) for a period of 6 months or must possess or be undertaking a relevant Certificate III or above qualification [Relevant qualifications include but are not limited to Certificate III or IV in hospital & health service pharmacy; Certificate IV in Project Management Practice/Leadership and Management/Business Administration]

Essential Requirements:
- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Working With Children Check (DHS)
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
