  • An extensive range of rotations available for Trainee Medical Officers (TMOs), across all medical and surgical specialties, obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics, emergency and intensive care, anaesthetics, mental health and rehabilitation. All rotations are consultant-led, with 24-hour senior clinician support across all sites. 
  • Our largest hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, is a centre of excellence and tertiary referral centre for South Australia that allows TMOs to gain experience with subspecialty services, such as the state-wide Motor Neuron Disease service and SA Liver Transplant Unit.
  • TMOs have regular access to support and training through the TMO Unit and Medical Education Team, who provide weekly fully catered educational sessions, in addition to quarterly simulation sessions in a state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Laboratory.
  • We are co-located with Flinders University, ranked within the top 2% of universities worldwide, with close ties providing the opportunity for academic growth and collaboration, in addition to a variety of Masters and Doctoral degrees available for aspiring academic clinicians.
  • SALHN has a supportive culture, with a strong focus on junior doctor wellbeing, social events coordinated by a TMO-led society and advocacy through monthly meetings of a Junior Medical Advisory Council attended by TMOs and senior clinicians.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree from a recognised institution.
