About the role

As a Clinical Research Fellow, you will contribute to the research being conducted in the cancer clinical research units of either the RAH or TQEH. You will contribute particularly to the care of patients enrolled in phase 1 and other clinical trials of the RAH Cancer Clinical Trials Unit or the clinical trials unit of TQEH medical oncology department. You will also be expected to conduct supervised clinical research and prepare manuscripts for presentation and publication. In addition, you will also contribute to providing the best possible care of patients and to supervising of junior medical staff within the objectives and philosophies of the medical oncology service of either the RAH or TQEH. You will uphold a commitment to inpatient and ambulatory care, research, education, and teaching.

You will take part in relevant multidisciplinary meetings and collaborate in multidisciplinary cancer care with staff other of units at the RAH or TQEH. You will also provide appropriate documentation of clinical care in patients’ medical records, written specialist opinions and requested medical reports. The RAH and TQEH are among South Australia’s largest accredited teaching hospitals, providing the people of South Australia and nearby states and territories with outstanding medical care and rehabilitation. The hospitals offer basic training positions in internal medicine, surgery, and general practice, as well as advanced training in a range of specialty areas. As advised, the RAH and TQEH Clinical Research Fellows may be expected to participate in on-call senior rosters. 

Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or an equivalent degree, you will be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of South Australia. Demonstrating clinical experience appropriate to your year of training, you will possess high standard skills in clinical practice and a high level of professional integrity. You will work well within a multidisciplinary team environment, utilising sound verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
