About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CaFHS team as an Aboriginal Cultural Child and Family Support Consultant, where you will be responsible for:

  • Engage with Aboriginal families and provide appropriate support to Aboriginal infants, children and their families.
  • Provide a range of 1:1 support including home visiting provided to Aboriginal families.
  • Establish goals in partnership with Aboriginal families, as part of an inter-professional team.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to:

  • Proven ability to relate to and be accepted by Aboriginal families of diverse backgrounds and adopt a non-judgemental approach.
  • Experience in successfully working with Aboriginal families (infants, children, and parents, including fathers) with complex issues.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal cultures including Aboriginal history, kinship systems and family structures, spirituality/religion, values and beliefs, behavioural expectations and family and community obligations and how this may create access barriers.
