About the role

About the Hospital and Emergency Department

The Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) is South Australia's largest accredited teaching hospital, providing a comprehensive range of the most complex clinical care to an estimated 85,000 inpatients and 400,000 outpatients each year.

The Emergency Department (ED) at RAH is one of the largest and most advanced in Australia, seeing more than 75,000 patients annually. It is the “super-site” for major emergencies in South Australia, such as burns, heart attacks and strokes. It is also the complex multi-trauma destination for the state with senior doctors and experienced nurses.

About you

As the Head of Unit ED, you will ensure that services are delivered in a patient-focused manner and of high standards of quality, caring, professionalism and collaboration.

In addition to your clinical and professional expertise, your skills in managing people, leadership, change management and sustainable financial decision accountability would be a key component to the success of the role. This is a key leadership role, providing you with the opportunity to promote consistency of clinical practice, clinical governance, quality, patient safety and education across the department.
