  • Base Salary Range: $121,537 - $126,970 p.a

The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services. The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds. The Port Augusta Hospital also has chemotherapy services and has a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department, both of which are the largest outside of Adelaide. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:

Step into a pivotal role as a Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, where you will provide expert clinical guidance across Maternity, Paediatrics, Nursery, and general acute care settings, including overseeing the impactful Anangu Bibi Birthing project. Renowned as leaders in your field, you will wield substantial autonomy and decision-making authority, shaping the future of patient care.

Your role will span diverse practice models, from delivering direct patient care and offering clinical leadership to coordinating transformative projects and mentoring staff and students. You will be the linchpin in ensuring adherence to nursing and midwifery standards and policies, driving enhanced patient outcomes and exemplifying accountability in all aspects of your work.

About you:

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and or midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and or midwives.
