  • Total Indicative Remuneration Package: $148,753 - $154,702 MDP3 (pro rata)
  • Hourly Rate: $69.04 p/hr plus 25% casual loading MOC1 | Multiple Casual Vacancies with the potential for ongoing or term appointment.

Join our Emergency Medicine Team and make a difference in Southern Adelaide Health Local Network!  

Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) is the southern area's largest hospital and provides medical services for people living in the southern metropolitan area of Adelaide. The Emergency Department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

About the role: 

This role is responsible for providing direct clinical care to patients presenting to the Flinders Medical Centre Emergency Department (ED) and Emergency Extended Care Unit (EECU), and to support overall department function. Duties for the role will include:

  • Maintain a high standard of patient care for all Emergency Department patients,
  • Bringing any doubts or concerns to the attention of the Consultant or Emergency Department Registrar immediately,
  • Working harmoniously & politely with all members of the clinical team,
  • Providing appropriate direction and supervision to junior registrars, resident medical officers and interns,
  • Emergency and routine care procedures will be performed under supervision consistent with the registrar's level of training and experience.       

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent,
  • ​Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner,
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues, other professional staff, and patients,
  • Commitment to providing a quality service to patients and their families

Please note that this position is multi-classed and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years.
