The Role
At Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network (FUNLHN), we're redefining aged care, disability, and support services through our innovative Consumer Directed Care model. This approach empowers consumers with greater control over their lives, allowing them to choose their services and their providers. With an emphasis on active participation, consumers set their own goals and determine their level of involvement in managing their living arrangements.
In this transformative model, Home Helper funding is directly managed by the consumers, not the health provider. This means that consumers play a pivotal role in deciding the shifts, tasks, service frequency, and the selection of the provider organization.
As a Home Helper, you'll be at the heart of this model, delivering essential services with efficiency and care. Your responsibilities will include meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry for the elderly, frail, or disabled, ensuring their homes remain clean and conducive to their independence.
We seek individuals who are flexible, conscientious, and empathetic, able to work independently in the community while collaborating closely with consumers, their families, and other health professionals. Must have a current driver's licence and willingness to drive, including access to a reliable, registered and insured (minimum of third-party insurance) motor vehicle. Must also be contactable by telephone.
