  • Permanent Part-time position available (working 32 hours per week), over a 7 day roster

Overview

Joining the team in the Catering Services, you will be responsible for ensuring that the production and distribution of food is delivered to appropriate standards in an efficient and effective manner. You will oversee the ordering of non-imprest food supplies, plating of meals, menu selections and ensuring that quality control of food production is maintained. This will include undertaking special diet cooking and modified texture foods, and working in liaison with the Dietitian to meet specific nutritional requirements for patients. As a senior member of the catering team, you will oversee staff and train apprentices as required, providing assistance to less experienced members of the team. It is expected that you will allocate, inspect and determine work priorities to ensure the quality and timeliness of work undertaken by employees. You will need to hold trade qualifications or trade equivalent skills as a Cook and bring previous experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals and in preparing and cooking for dietary requirements. With a flexible approach to work and rostering systems, you will work well within a team environment and have the ability to work in various settings and relate to all levels of staff. A proven track record in overseeing catering staff will be ideal. Cooking experience in Age Care Highly Recommended.
