SA Dental is seeking Dental Therapists / Oral Health Therapists to join our Dental Therapist Candidate Pool to fill positions as they become available. SA Dental provides a range of dental services for eligible children and adults at clinics throughout South Australia in metropolitan and country locations.

As a Dental Therapist you can make a significant difference to the oral health of children and contribute to the development of population and public oral health planning and services. Enjoying the flexible working arrangements when you work for SA Dental, you will provide general and emergency dental care, as well as planning, advice and oral health education/ promotion to eligible clients and groups. Providing referral to other practitioners for care outside of your defined Scope of Practice, you will ensure administration relating to patients records, appointments, co-payments and recall systems are managed as required. As part of your role, you will also provide guidance and direction to Dental Assistants and Dental Assistant Trainees.

Demonstrating a high level of clinical competence in the provision of general and emergency dental care to clients, you will work well as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will possess effective problem-solving skills to provide flexible services that meets the needs of clients, whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding of clients from diverse, cultural, ethic and social backgrounds. Your ability to communicate effectively and provide advice and guidance to staff, clients and professional groups will hold you in good stead for this role.

You will need to have registration or be eligible to register as a Dental Therapist or Oral Health Therapist with the Dental Board of Australia through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

In addition to demonstrated understanding of the Dental Board of Australia policies, codes and standards and code of ethics for the South Australian Public Sector, you will be committed to working as part of a clinical team and work well with other health professionals.
