About the Role

As a Level 2 Physiotherapy Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting physiotherapy services across multiple locations, including the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH), Repat Health Precinct (RHP), and Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre (HRC). Working alongside dedicated professionals, you'll assist with patient care, ensuring improved outcomes and helping deliver efficient, high-quality services. Your contributions will enhance the safe and smooth operation of the CALHN Physiotherapy Service.
In this dynamic role, you’ll be an integral part of a clinical team, receiving day-to-day supervision from a Principal Physiotherapist. Collaborating closely with physiotherapists, other assistants, and support staff, you'll help facilitate patient care, source vital equipment, and coordinate with various health professionals within CALHN. Working in CALHN as an Allied Health Assistant is varied and there are opportunities to rotate through a number of different clinical settings. Work areas may include acute inpatient hospitals, subacute rehabilitation clinical areas (such as the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit or Spinal Rehabilitation), and many more!
About You
To thrive in this role as an Allied Health Assistant in CALHN Physiotherapy, you will possess exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.
Key attributes include:
- Physical strength and endurance to assist with manual handling of patients and equipment, while applying rehabilitation techniques under direction.
- Strong observational skills, with the ability to respond to patients' needs, recognise changes in their condition, and suggest appropriate actions for physiotherapists' approval.
- Excellent time management and independence, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a team or autonomously.
- Effective communication and documentation skills, ensuring patient care is accurately recorded, while maintaining confidentiality and interacting with others in a courteous and ethical manner.
