  • Salary: $1,106.10 - $1,117.60 per week (Pro-rata) –  WHA3

Overview

Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (LHN) is now looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic Weekly Paid Health Ancillary Workers WHA3 in Aged Care, as part of the Regional Aged Care Cadetship Program, to kick-start their careers in the Aged Care profession. Offering Candidates a Certificate III in Individual Support qualification in aged care for new employees and/or existing staff wanting to undertake this qualification. 

About the program

The successful candidates will be provided with a minimum of four days of paid employment (30 hours minimum) as a Weekly Paid Health Ancillary Worker WHA3 in one of our Aged Care sites for up to 12 months. 

The successful candidates will study Certificate III in Individual Support – Ageing and/or Disability CHC33015 through a Registered Training Organisation. 

One day (7.5 hours) per fortnight will be allocated for study days and completing workplace assessments with participation supported in paid work time. The remaining days will be dedicated to practical on-the-job learning within the workplace.

After successfully completing the Certificate III qualification and demonstrating satisfactory job performance, candidates will be considered for ongoing WHA4 positions. 

Appointment will be subject to the following requirements

  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have an appropriate work visa. 
  • Satisfactory required Criminal History Screening/s
  • Meet Risk Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances) Immunisation Requirements. 
  • Participate in assessment of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) ability to demonstrate suitability for job pre-requisites.
  • Meet all other employment and participation conditions of the project including being available to attend the training dates and travelling independently to and from the workplace, training sites as determined. 
  • Uphold the Public Sector Values and adhere to the South Australian Public Sector Code of Ethics.
  • Meet the training funding eligibility criteria.

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
