About the role

The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) works under the direction of Speech Pathology (AHP), assisting with the provision of allied health services, including contributing to patient care by providing administrative and clinical assistance to the speech pathology team in their day-to-day clinician duties. You will work under the supervision and direction of the speech pathologist team and only undertake those clinical tasks delegated to you.

This may include :

  • Contribution to a safe working environment for patients and staff
  • Preparation of assessment and therapy resources as required.
  • Implementing a communication or swallowing therapy program
  • Communication of relevant issues relating to patient care to the treating therapist.

About you

To succeed in this role, you should possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a compassionate nature, and a genuine desire to support others. Experience as an allied health assistant would be an advantage, but comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are well-equipped to excel in your role.

Qualifications

Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.

Essential Requirements:

Current National Police Clearance (NPC)

Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
