Myles Ward is a General Medical Ward at Noarlunga Hospital that cares for people who require a hospital stay to correct general medical issues.

About the role:

Accountable to the Manager (Occupational Therapy) for the provision assessment and treatment services for adult inpatients of the SALHN, which aims to optimise health outcomes. This role is on the weekend with flexibility to work either a Saturday or Sunday at Noarlunga Hospital. The position may be required to rotate across other clinical services and acute sites. Some Duties for this role include: 

  • Using increasing professional knowledge and skills to provide assessments, interpret findings, plan and implement interventions and discharge planning in conjunction with the patient, carers, and other health professionals,
  • Working collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team,
  • Managing with reduced/distant supervision, non routine clinical situations when more complex problem solving, professional decision making and practice skills required.
  • Participating in departmental and hospital professional development programs and meetings.

About you: 

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA),
  • Demonstrated competency in Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment techniques, 
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) and database packages,
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake the physical demands of the job.
