Join our Allied Health Team at the Repat Health Precinct

Provide Physiotherapy services to inpatients of Transition Services - predominantly Bangka Strait ward, but some cover may be required within Vita Stars wards. The Physiotherapist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients admitted for restorative care (over 65) or NDIS pathways within Transition Services.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Manager of Transition Services, this role will be involved in Provide Physiotherapy services to either inpatients referred from the wards or outpatients referred from clinics. The Physiotherapist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients which results in improved patient care and outcomes, under reduced direction from senior staff.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing appropriate, safe and effective Physiotherapy management  by assessing and developing management plans for patients referred within the scope of the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care.
  • Ensuring caseload is managed appropriately by treating patients according to priority.
  • Ensuring relevant Physiotherapy information is provided by maintaining records (case notes and departmental) and statistical system in accordance with departmental guidelines.

About you:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Physiotherapy skills in assessment and management of a broad range of conditions.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage one’s time effectively including the ability to supervise Physiotherapy students and assistants.
  • Skills commensurate with AHP2 peer assessment process requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personnel and maintain effective work relationships, such as the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team situation.
