About the Role
Are you passionate about improving the lives of people with diabetes? As a Nurse Consultant - Diabetes with the Central Adelaide Local Health Network Diabetes Education Service, you’ll deliver expert clinical care and diabetes self-management education across the continuum of care. Your role will focus on providing high-quality, patient-centred support while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop policies, resources, and education initiatives that enhance care delivery and outcomes.
This position offers the opportunity to lead by example, driving contemporary models of excellence in diabetes care and supporting nurses in delivering exceptional education and support. With a high level of autonomy, you’ll manage a specialist caseload, provide clinical leadership, and utilise your expertise to achieve improved health outcomes for patients. About You
We’re seeking a dynamic and skilled Nurse Consultant with a passion for diabetes care and education. To excel in this role, you’ll bring:
- Qualifications and expertise: Registration or eligibility for registration with the Nursing Board of Australia, with at least 3 years of post-registration experience in diabetes nursing care and education.
- Leadership and teamwork: Proven ability to lead, communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary workplace environment.
- Organisation and adaptability: Strong skills in prioritising workloads, meeting deadlines, and embracing innovation and change in service delivery.
- Knowledge and compliance: Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and safety guidelines, as well as current professional nursing and healthcare issues.
