About the role
- The Technical Officer provides a range of diagnostic laboratory functions within the Blood Bank at Royal Adelaide Hospital. These include pretransfusion testing, antenatal serology, and antibody investigations, dispatch of blood and blood products and validation of test and quality control results.
- The incumbent is required to fully participate in the laboratory 24-hour/7 day roster & on call roster as required.
- Technical Officers employed at this grade will have the technical expertise for routine testing and will develop any other technical expertise as may be required to facilitate the day to day operations of the Transfusion Service.

Essential Requirements:
- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Working With Children Check (DHS)
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
Educational/Vocational Qualifications:
- A recognised qualification or equivalent in an appropriate technical discipline
