Our Allied and Community Health Teams are multi-disciplinary teams who work together towards the common goal of improving health outcomes of our community members. Services are based in Port Augusta and Whyalla, with regular outreach clinics held in Roxby Downs, Quorn, Hawker, Maree and Leigh Creek. Orthotic and Prosthetics (O&P)
Whyalla Hospital Orthotics and Prosthetics department provides personalised support for custom braces or artificial limbs. As the only Orthotics and Prosthetics service located outside of the metropolitan area, we provide services in the regional centres of Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, and Port Pirie. Also providing services to clients staying in Whyalla hospital and those visiting for appointments, including rehabilitation and temporary prosthetic care. The O&P team help people who are part of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) with their ongoing care and work with podiatrists to support clients with high-risk feet in Whyalla and Port Augusta. Our overall goal is to improve client’s movement and quality of life through treatment, education, and support.
About the Role:
The Senior Podiatrist is a seasoned, highly skilled clinician who plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional services and providing clinical leadership to allied health professionals across the Flinders Upper North Regional Health Service and rural/remote areas of South Australia. With a focus on enhancing the quality, safety, and community-driven distribution of services, the Senior Podiatrist collaborates with allied health teams, managers, and key stakeholders to shape innovative models of care and drive workforce development initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of local communities.

About You:
- Must hold a recognised qualification within the Podiatry Profession and be eligible for (full) membership of the relevant Allied Health Profession.
- Apply specialist expertise (e.g., as a Rural Generalist or in a specific discipline) to deliver complex clinical or consultancy services across FUNLHN and relevant networks.
- Work independently with clinical competence and advanced reflective-practice skills, using professional guidance for new or complex techniques.
- Use in-depth knowledge of FUNLHN's strategies, operations, service delivery, and workforce to manage complex responsibilities.
- Advise management on professional service development, practice, and redesign to meet demand and client needs.
