About the role

SA Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Ultrasound to lead and manage the operational functions of our Ultrasound Unit. In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing both human and physical resources to ensure smooth service delivery, while upholding departmental policies, procedures, and professional standards. Your strong organisational and leadership skills will be essential in maintaining high levels of clinical efficiency and patient care.

As Head of Ultrasound, you’ll also play a critical role in fostering a culture of professional excellence. You’ll drive the development of research and educational initiatives within the Unit, ensuring all staff have access to ongoing learning and advancement opportunities. About You

You are a highly skilled imaging professional with a passion for clinical leadership and continuous improvement. To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive clinical experience in medical imaging, with a strong track record of effective decision-making, communication, and staff supervision

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including motivating teams, managing performance, and driving positive departmental change

  • Proven understanding of healthcare governance, including risk and safety management, WHS legislation, quality assurance, and accreditation standards

  • Sound knowledge of management practices, including rostering, policy development, performance reviews, and a commitment to ongoing education and development
