Support Aboriginal Health within Southern Adelaide

About the role: 

The Director Operations, Aboriginal Health forms part of the Aboriginal Health Divisional leadership structure responsible to the Executive Director, Aboriginal Health. The primary objective for this position is to manage broad operations of the Karpa Ngarrattendi Aboriginal Health Liaison services across Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Health Services, including supporting the operational functions of the Aboriginal Family Clinic and other SALHN sites.

In this role, you will:

• Provide guidance and support for Karpa Ngarrattendi team members, the Aboriginal Health project team, direct supervision to Administration coordinator.
• Identify, implement, develop and maintain accurate and legible statistical information on activities, including provision of reports.
• Promote health initiatives and programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and promoting holistic services as appropriate.

About you:

• This is an Identified Aboriginal Health Role. In accordance with Section 52(2) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA), applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
• Demonstrated ability to liaise, consult and engage in a culturally sensitive manner with the Aboriginal community, individuals and families with proven commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal people.
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide analytical commentaries and consultancy services to staff at all levels.
• Demonstrated negotiation and consultation skills with proven ability to engage and develop effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
