About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Scientist at the MeS2 classification level to join our dynamic team in a regional laboratory setting. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing a high-quality, multi-disciplined pathology service, contributing your expertise to ensure accurate and reliable diagnostic results. You will demonstrate advanced professional competence by applying specialist knowledge to perform and troubleshoot standard diagnostic procedures, while also developing innovative methods to enhance service delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to take on greater responsibility, working under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager to maintain NATA compliance and improve laboratory workflows.
As a Medical Scientist, you will have the opportunity to further hone your skills and expertise, working on increasingly complex tasks and engaging in continuous professional development. You will take on a key leadership role within the laboratory, overseeing the validation of Quality Control processes and supporting the overall quality management system. Additionally, you will be called upon to act as the Laboratory Manager in their absence, demonstrating your leadership and interpersonal abilities. About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Medical Scientist with a passion for quality pathology services. To excel in this role, you will need:

A relevant degree in medical science, accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists or an equivalent qualification.

Proven experience in providing quality pathology services, including quality control and assurance.

Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform high-quality laboratory testing under pressure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and interact with clients at all levels.
