About the Role

Are you a highly organised and proactive professional looking for a dynamic role in a fast-paced healthcare environment? As a Personal Assistant, you will provide high-quality, confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Head of Neurosurgery and Medical Lead of Neuroscience and Rehabilitation. In this pivotal role, you will work independently, exercising autonomy and sound judgement to ensure the seamless operation of the department. From managing priorities and workloads to offering expert assistance and guidance, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of the team while upholding the highest standards of service.

In addition to your core responsibilities, you will oversee the department’s clerical staff, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. With a strong team-oriented approach, you will coordinate daily workloads, handle complex administrative challenges, and collaborate with hospital staff to identify priorities. You will also support the Administration Coordinator in supervising and developing rehabilitation ASO2 staff at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to make a meaningful impact in a vital healthcare setting.

We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive professional with strong administrative skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills – Ability to work independently under pressure, manage competing priorities, supervise staff, and allocate workloads effectively.

  • Excellent communication and discretion – Proven ability to communicate, negotiate, and maintain confidentiality with integrity and professionalism.

  • Extensive administrative experience – Background in providing high-level executive support, preparing presentations, organising meetings, and using a variety of computer applications.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and adaptability – Familiarity with office procedures, medical terminology, and occupational health and safety, with a flexible and responsive approach to changing work requirements.
