About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Medical Scientist / Technical Officer to join our dedicated team within Anatomical Pathology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. In this rewarding role, you will be integral to the department’s operations, applying your scientific expertise to perform both routine and complex diagnostic testing. You’ll play a key role in analysing results, troubleshooting procedures, and contributing to the accurate and timely delivery of diagnostic services. Your work will also support the dissection and examination of simple and non-complex specimens, following established protocols and NPAAC guidelines to assist in critical histopathological diagnoses.
You will be a valued part of our immunohistochemistry service, contributing to the examination and interpretation of samples while providing supervisory support to staff. Beyond the technical aspects, you’ll also have opportunities to participate in quality assurance programs, NATA accreditation activities, and the ongoing training and education of colleagues and pathology staff. About you
You are a motivated and skilled professional with a strong foundation in medical science or technical laboratory disciplines. Your proven expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in Anatomical Pathology make you an ideal fit for this role.
Hold a relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or Technical discipline
Demonstrated experience in immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and in-situ hybridisation
Strong ability to manage workloads, troubleshoot techniques, and maintain quality standards
Excellent communication, teamwork, and supervisory skills with a focus on continuous improvement
