About the role

In an accredited training capacity, you will contribute to the provision of clinical management of patients and supervision of intern and/or resident staff within the Medical Oncology Department. Ensuring that patients receive the best possible care within the objectives and philosophies of Medical Oncology, you will take part in inpatient and ambulatory care, research, education and teaching.

Participating in multidisciplinary cancer care in collaboration with other units treating cancer, you will participate in relevant multidisciplinary meetings. You will ensure the appropriate documentation of clinical care in patients' medical records, and the timely provision of discharge summaries, written specialist opinions and requested medical reports. As well as participating in administrative activities associated with the provision of clinical services, you will foster the development of community networks appropriate to the Unit's work. The Medical Oncology units offer a diverse complex clinical presentation and supportive work environment. This role presents a great opportunity to increase and develop your knowledge base within a sophisticated environment.

Holding a MBBS or equivalent degree, you will be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. With clinical experience appropriate to your year of training, you will have demonstrated high standards of clinical practice and professional integrity. You will be skilled at working in a multidisciplinary team environment, utilising your strong communication skills and adaptability to change. A demonstrated commitment to quality improvement will hold you in good stead.

Essential Requirements:

Educational/Vocational Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of      Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Two years post graduate training.
