About the Role

South Australian Prison Health Service (SAPHS), part of Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN), is seeking an organised and committed Administrative Services Officer to support the delivery of high-quality health care services across South Australia's correctional facilities. SAPHS provides primary health care to adult men and women in all government-run prisons across metropolitan, regional, and country areas, working closely with Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Services to support complex patient needs. In partnership with the Department for Correctional Services, SAPHS ensures that health care for incarcerated individuals is equivalent to that offered to the general community.

As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide confidential, high-quality administrative and reception support to a wide range of staff and services. You will be responsible for patient administration, maintaining accurate records, transferring information between sites, and supporting correspondence and corporate record-keeping. Reporting to the Administration Services Lead and working closely with the Clinical Services Coordinator, you will ensure a customer-focused, efficient, and professional service is maintained at all times, playing a critical role in the smooth and effective operation of SAPHS.

About You

You are a highly organised and professional administrator with a strong commitment to delivering confidential, efficient, and client-focused support within a busy healthcare environment.

  • You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a strong focus on meeting deadlines under pressure while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.

  • You bring experience in providing high-level customer service within multidisciplinary teams, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, patient information systems, and data entry.

  • You have strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage workflows efficiently, prioritise tasks, and respond flexibly to the needs of a broad range of clients.

  • You possess sound knowledge of records management standards, including State Records legislation, and are experienced in the use of health information systems and related technologies.
