Join Our Team as a Cook Assistant/Services Assistant!

Are you passionate about food and looking for a fulfilling role where you can make a difference every day? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook Assistant/Services Assistant to support the meal preparation and delivery operations within our health unit.

In this vital role, you’ll ensure our clients enjoy delicious and nutritious meals while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of meals, from hearty breakfasts to quick snacks, and engaging with clients to accommodate their dietary needs. Your contributions will not only nourish our clients but also enhance their overall experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and portion meals, including fast-serve foods.

  • Receive and reconstitute frozen foods, monitoring temperature and timing.

  • Assist clients with menu choices and dietary requests.

  • Service, plate and deliver food across the hospital.

  • Maintain stock, equipment, vending machines and hygiene standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to flexible rostering.

  • Strong communication skills with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Reliable, organised, and able to meet deadlines.

  • Discreet and maintains confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of food safety, infection control, and workplace health and safety.

  • Basic computer skills and understanding of customer service principles.

  • Catering/cooking experience preferred.
