We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Department Consultant to join our team and provide high-quality emergency medical services within the Riverland community and the broader Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN). This is your opportunity to deliver exceptional care while taking on a leadership role in education, training, and operational management.

About the Role:

As an Emergency Department Consultant, you will:

  • Provide clinical services of the highest standard in the Emergency Department across a 24/7 roster
  • Work with limited or no direction, exercising a high degree of professional judgment and clinical competence in a multi-disciplinary setting
  • Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day management of the clinical floor
  • Respond to hospital MET/Code Blue/Code Black calls as required by allocation on shift
  • Provide supervision, training, and direction to more junior staff as needed
  • Participate in teaching and quality assurance activities, while also engaging in health promotion and community education initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
  • Must hold a specialist qualification with the following colleges - RACGP, ACRRM and ACEM and be registrable as a specialist with AHPRA
  • Granted specialist registration by the medical board for relevant specialty eg. G/P, ACEM.
