The Consultation Liaison Service (CLS) is part of the Rural and Remote Mental Health Service Older Persons Mental Health Specialised Services located at Glenside campus, and works alongside the Rapid Inreach Service. CLS aims to streamline and facilitate specialist older persons care pathways and build skills in managing psychiatric illness via distance consultation, information, and advice. The CLS is the pathway to access older persons telepsychiatry services and facilitation of inpatient admissions. Working within this service, you will apply your clinical experience, knowledge and professional competence to plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive and integrated range of mental health services appropriate to the needs of consumers, their carers and families. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, you will utilise a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy and evaluation approaches. Working under reduced clinical direction, you may contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, allied health assistants and students.
For appointment at the AHP2 level, you will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work, and have registration with the relevant professional association. For appointment at the RN2 level, you will be eligible for registration as a Mental Health Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate, along with a relevant postgraduate qualification in Mental Health practice. Demonstrating a commitment to providing consumer and family-centred care, you will possess highly effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
