About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Unit Gastroenterology and Hepatology, some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Ensures provision of quality inpatient and outpatient care for acute and chronic diseases relevant to the Unit's scope of operation
  • In service teaching/training/education of medical students, doctors, nursing, scientific and paramedical staff, especially of Advanced trainees
  • Ensures provision of regular supervisory ward rounds for inpatients that involve resident and registrar staff plus appropriate health care professionals
  • Participation in FU U/G teaching programs and in hospital teaching programs for FRACP is expected 

About you:

  • Skilled endoscopist, including proficiency in endoscopy of patients with acute upper GI haemorrhage
  • Obvious ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Conduct of clinical audits and practice improvement programs
  • Ability to function effectively in a busy clinical environment involving multidisciplinary staff
