Overview:
- The Scientific Officer, Chemical Hazards, is a member of the Chemical and Environmental Hazards Team. In this role you will:
- Design and conduct an integrated series of studies to understand human exposure to various pollutants and the mechanisms of indoor and outdoor contamination,
- Conduct a broad range of environmental sampling, statistical analyses, data management, biostatistical analysis and reporting for a variety of chemical hazard related projects; including lead sources and pathways of contamination to assist with reducing the exposure of people to lead, and
- Undertake investigations, assessments and projects pertaining to human health risk assessment of exposures to chemical and environmental hazards.

Criminal History Screening Requirement
- A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)
- A DHS ‘Working With Children Check’ (WWCC) is required for this position.
Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
Special Conditions
- The position is based in Adelaide. The position requires some out of hours work, performing considerable field work duties, and travel to regional country areas that may require overnight stays.
- A current South Australian Drivers Licence and a willingness to drive are essential.
