Whyalla Hospital
Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising of 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients. Whyalla Hospital’s Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia. It includes six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care and counselling services, reducing the need to travel outside of the region for care. It is also, one of three stroke services in regional SA, providing specialised treatment for suitable stroke patients 24/7, supported by metropolitan stroke units. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:
As an Enrolled Nurse in Renal Dialysis, you’ll enjoy working with increased independence, confidently delivering specialised care with less direct supervision from Registered Nurses. While retaining responsibility for your actions, you will collaborate closely with Registered Nurses/Midwives to ensure the highest quality of care through delegated functions.
You’ll operate at the full scope of your practice, applying your skills and knowledge across a range of roles and decision-making responsibilities tailored to your education and competence.
This role offers a rewarding opportunity to excel as a proficient to expert Enrolled Nurse within the specialist field of renal dialysis, making a real difference in patients’ lives every day.

About You:
- The Advanced Skills Enrolled Nurse will either:
- Hold an Advanced Diploma of Enrolled Nursing and have three years full time equivalent experience in the relevant clinical area; OR
- Be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate and has five years full time equivalent experience in the relevant clinical area and have demonstrated advanced skills and knowledge in patient/client assessment, care management and leadership responsibilities equivalent to those set out in the advanced diploma competencies.
