Overview:
For PO2
The Public Health Officer contributes to the achievement of organisational objectives and outcomes designed to control the occurrence of communicable disease in South Australia. The Public Health Officer is responsible for the collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of communicable disease surveillance data, including sexually transmitted infections and blood borne infections. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Public Health Officer is required to participate in investigations of communicable disease outbreaks and subsequent control activities, you will prepare and present timely reviews of epidemiological information for reports and briefings to relevant stakeholders. The Public Health Officer will be required to provide health information and advice to members of the public, health professionals, government agencies and special interest groups on communicable diseases, immunisation, and the principles of food hygiene and infection control.
For RN/M2A

Criminal History Screening Requirement
- A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients)
- A DHS ‘Working With Children Check’ (WWCC) is required for this position.
Immunisation Risk for this position is Category B (indirect contact with blood or body substances)
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
Special Conditions
- The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours on-call roster; some out-of-hours work will be required.
- Intrastate/interstate travel may be required.
