About the Role

As a Ward Clerk, you’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the ward by delivering essential administrative and reception services. Acting as the first point of contact for patients, families, and staff, you’ll contribute to a welcoming environment while ensuring daily ward activities are well coordinated. You’ll work closely with clinical and nursing teams, using your strong communication and organisational skills to support bed management and patient flow.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining accurate patient records, managing appointments using the Sunrise computer system, and keeping the ward well-stocked by ordering medical and stationery supplies through Oracle. This is a highly valued role that requires a team-focused mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You’re an organised and adaptable professional with strong interpersonal and administrative skills. You thrive in a busy environment, are a great team player, and are committed to delivering excellent support in a healthcare setting.

  • Proven ability to work independently, problem-solve, and manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in public-facing and multidisciplinary settings

  • Confident using Microsoft Office and booking systems, with a good grasp of medical terminology and data entry accuracy

  • Committed to confidentiality, workplace safety, and customer service excellence in all tasks
