Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to contribute to neurodevelopmental assessments for children with complex needs. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping brighter futures for children and their families.

About the role: 

The Children's Assessment Team (CAT) provides neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people with complex needs. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for using formal and informal assessments and professional judgement to contribute to the comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment for children referred to CAT. The role reports to the Team Leader and duties will include:

  • administering Occupational Therapy assessments and providing advice regarding sensory processing and fine motor concerns, as part of the comprehensive assessment of children.
  • report writing 
  • case co-ordination 
  • multi-disciplinary case formulation 
  • contribution to supervision and training for Paediatric Occupational Therapists and students.

About you:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA),
  • Ability to assess the developmental skills of children and young people utilising standardised and informal OT assessment tools/methods
