About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nurse Consultant to join our mental health team and provide advanced clinical nursing expertise to individuals and groups. In this key leadership role, you will support your team through direct care, clinical oversight, and by leading projects that enhance the quality and effectiveness of mental health services. Your contribution will help shape a responsive, recovery-focused model of care aligned with SA Health’s vision and the National Mental Health Standards.

Working with autonomy and integrity, you will be accountable for delivering and guiding evidence-based care while mentoring and supporting nursing staff. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external organisations to ensure continuity of care and best outcomes for consumers. Your role will also involve providing counselling, education, and group interventions, all directed toward supporting recovery, resilience, and optimal mental health for our community.

About you

You are an experienced mental health nurse with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care. Your ability to drive clinical change and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams sets you apart.

  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years’ post-registration experience and mental health nursing qualification

  • Proven leadership in clinical practice and change management within mental health settings

  • Strong computer literacy and knowledge of nursing standards, policies, and mental health frameworks

  • Skilled in fostering teamwork, consumer engagement, and applying best practice in mental health care
