Shape the future of wellbeing! As a Senior Exercise Physiologist, you'll be an experienced clinician operating with high levels of competence within interdisciplinary teams. You will provide specialist clinical exercise physiology services and leadership across SALHN Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS). This includes implementing, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating exercise and health-promotion programs focused on enhancing the physical and mental wellbeing of consumers with severe mental illness. You'll translate evidence into practice, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and promote the value of exercise physiology within a mental health clinical setting.
About the role:
Duties for the role will include:
- Providing specialised exercise physiology assessment and intervention that is trauma informed, contributes to rehabilitation planning and promotes recovery.
- Working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a range of evidence based approaches at an individual and group level
- Partnering with community organisations to support participation in community based exercise programs
- May be required to providing professional supervision to other exercise physiologists and students
- contributing to training program development and delivery
- Reviewing, recommending, developing, and implementing workflow and quality assurance processes to improve practice.
About you:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification usually in human movement, inclusive of the exercise physiology elective, and eligibility for accreditation from Exercise Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
- Extensive experience in providing clinical exercise physiology services to clients with a broad range of illnesses and disabilities.
- Knowledge of contemporary recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation models.
- Working knowledge of the comprehensive individualized needs of consumers with high and complex mental health needs
