About the Role

Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker ready to make a real impact? We’re looking for a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic team within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN), including the renowned Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and a range of community and ambulatory services. In this rewarding role, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based social work services to support patients with complex needs. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll drive best-practice outcomes, contribute to service planning and innovation, and be an advocate for vulnerable patient groups.

As a clinical leader and mentor, you’ll supervise and support junior social work staff, lead discipline-specific education, and contribute to research and service evaluation that enhances clinical practice. Your expertise and initiative will be instrumental in improving patient flow and service efficiency, while also strengthening CALHN’s position as a leader in patient-centred care. If you’re committed to professional excellence, passionate about social justice, and ready to step into a pivotal role, we’d love to hear from you.

About You

You’re a highly skilled and compassionate social work professional, ready to take on complex challenges and provide leadership in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting. You bring sound clinical judgement, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to delivering the highest standard of care.

  • Qualifications & Experience: You hold a recognised Social Work degree and are eligible for full AASW membership, with substantial recent experience in a clinical specialty managing complex cases with minimal supervision.

  • Clinical Expertise: You apply high-level clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice in complex and fast-paced environments, contributing to both patient outcomes and service improvement initiatives.

  • Leadership & Supervision: You have experience leading clinical teams and supervising staff or students, with a demonstrated ability to foster a supportive, inclusive, and feedback-driven culture.

  • Communication & Collaboration: You possess advanced written and verbal communication skills, build trust with patients and colleagues, and work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
