Allied and Community Health Service

Our Allied and Community Health Teams are multi-disciplinary teams who work together towards the common goal of improving health outcomes of our community members. Services are based in Port Augusta and Whyalla, with regular outreach clinics held in Roxby Downs, Quorn, Hawker, Maree and Leigh Creek. We offer a wide range of centre-based, in-home and community-based services to people of all ages and tailor our services to best meet our client needs. About the Role:

Take the next step in your nursing career as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Diabetes Education and make a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of people living with diabetes in our region. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide high-quality nursing care across a range of health settings, supporting clients through education, management, and continuity of care.

You will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to support nursing leadership within the service, guiding less experienced staff and contributing to best practice through the implementation of care improvements. This role also involves promoting consistency and coordination across diabetes services, helping to deliver safe, person-centred care to patients throughout the Flinders and Upper North region.

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
