About the role
The SAMI consultant radiologist is responsible to the site’s Campus Clinical Head for delivering Medical Imaging services of the highest possible standard to SAMI patients both in terms of individual performance and by contributing to multi-disciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care, teaching, and research. The incumbent is required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical and academic team.
In this position, you will provide professional leadership, mentor and supervise radiology trainees and medical students, and actively participate in quality assurance initiatives to ensure the delivery of safe and efficient care. You will represent SAMI at campus meetings, contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions, and collaborate with clinicians to optimise patient outcomes. You may also be required to provide services at various SAMI sites as directed, supporting a culture of teamwork and excellence in diagnostic imaging.
About You
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate the following key attributes and qualifications:

Qualified Medical Specialist:
Hold an MBBS or equivalent, with specialist registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Board of Australia as per the SA Medical Officers Award. -
Leadership & Collaboration:
Proven ability to lead, teach, and supervise within a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and continuous improvement. -
Clinical Expertise & Communication:
Demonstrated competence across a broad range of medical imaging modalities, with strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. -
Commitment to Excellence:
Engaged in clinical audit, research, and continuing medical education, with a clear focus on quality service, ethical conduct, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
