About the Role

If you’re looking for a role where your expertise can genuinely change lives—and you can enjoy the balance of a permanent part-time position—this is it. As our new Senior Speech Pathologist, you’ll be part of a passionate, supportive team helping older South Australians stay connected, confident, and living well. Working across our Geriatric Outreach Service, Geriatrics in the Home, and Multidisciplinary Community Geriatric Service, you’ll bring your skills to consumers with complex swallowing, communication, and cognitive needs. You’ll focus on compassionate, person-centred care, using practical, non-pharmacological approaches to support people living with dementia in both residential aged care and the community.

Every day, you’ll work alongside dedicated colleagues—medical, nursing, and allied health—collaborating to deliver care that truly makes a difference. You’ll have the chance to shape models of care, streamline patient pathways, and build strong connections with community providers, all while enjoying the flexibility to balance work and life. This is your opportunity to bring warmth, expertise, and innovation to a role where the impact you make will be felt far beyond the clinical setting.

About You

You’re an experienced and passionate speech pathologist who’s ready to make a meaningful difference, while enjoying the flexibility of a permanent part-time role. With your blend of clinical expertise, compassion, and collaboration, you thrive in helping older South Australians improve their quality of life. You’re driven by evidence-based practice, value working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, and bring the energy, adaptability, and creativity needed to make every day count.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The right qualifications and experience – A degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) with eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, plus at least three years’ post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Proven clinical excellence – Expertise in assessing, planning, and managing swallowing, communication, and cognitive disorders, including dysphagia, across diverse care settings.
  • A collaborative, inclusive approach – The ability to work seamlessly in multidisciplinary teams, foster respectful and inclusive environments, and build positive relationships with patients, carers, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills – Clear, confident communication, sound judgement, and the ability to prioritise, adapt, and deliver high-quality outcomes across clinical and non-clinical activities.
